In exchange for the advance provided, we generally will receive an agreed-upon sum of money at the conclusion of the case, but only if the case is ultimately successful. If the case is lost, the client is not obligated to repay the money. We require the client to sign an agreement acknowledging all of the terms of the transaction as well as a lien. We will also request an attorney to sign an acknowledgement of the lien, which is basically in the same form and serves the same function as doctor liens.
